Put it in water then boil that down until you reduce the volume to half. This will give you a concentrated herbal solution which can be added to the wetting agent.
How much to add for pests? Depends on the pest.

IMO3 is considered Propagated IMO (PIMO) where the microbes you collected in your Seed IMO (IMO 1&2) are grown to immense populations. IMO4 is considered Activated IMO (AIMO) where the PIMO is mixed in equal proportion by volume to field soil and/or red clay dirt.
Both in PIMO and AIMO the liquid solutions are added to ensure nutrient content and “food” for the microbes to populate. The piles should be brought to ~60% moisture content once, then allowed to ferment until they cool, turning frequently so the temperature never exceeds 120F or 50C.
When combined in equal volumes of PIMO with field soil, the result should heat up within the day. If it does not, there may be the issue of contamination of the field soil, the proportions of PIMO to field soil may not be correct, the PIMO was made incorrectly, or the moisture content is incorrect.

That means my imo4 is wasted huh?Is there any use of that product? So if I make a new batch of PIMO,can the failed AIMO be used with the newly made PIMO to make new AIMO?

I have been using a bit of it from a russian source. It seems to be working favorably to activate the indigenous micro organisms by providing complex carbon foods and nutrients.
There is a bunch of information on the internet about it, albeit somewhat mysterious in nature. Often it is referred to as “black goo”

I operate on the 80/20 rule. If 80% of it looks good, I go with it.

When I saw you had the same question I asked drake and he sent me a couple pictures.
The pictures say to use half dog food+half woodchips+KNF solutions.
Im a bit surprised dog food would work, and am curious about the quality that should/could be used.
I also read a recent post on knfsupport stating they used oats.
Im in North Kohala and am starting my imo1 , we have a shelf stable imo2 and I’d like to trial mediums other than the mill run. Good luck!
Anyone else tried any other medium or have any tips for dog food and or oats?

Those are definitely Indigenous Micro Organisms becoming active from a large food source, but probably not the IMO you want to collect Seed IMO from as they are probably not that well suited for soil life.

Yes i was wondering the same thing

Yeah itโs good to use. It wonโt hurt anything. ย You just have a bit of sugar at the bottom of your solution now.

Thank you all,
Coincidentally, I just purchased 2 50 lb bags of rice bran from Del’s in Hilo for $22 & change.ย FWIW, they’re currently out of rolled oats and whole oats.
I”ve not yet had a chance to use the rice bran, but will post results after processing it.
