In reply to: Vinegar remanence

I haven’t done the experiment, but I don’t think just sugar and water will make very good vinegar? I’m pretty sure the acetic acid bacteria need more nutrients to make a good vinegar, so this would lead me to believe that you will have to make it from a new KNF Food.

In reply to: Vinegar dilution

Dilution for plants is typically 1:500 for most applications.

I store the vinegar with a sealed lid to prevent evaporation and bugs, but it could be stored with a breathable lid.

In reply to: KNF Turkeys?

While I don’t personally have experience with turkeys the setup is similar to chickens. The only thing that would be different is to make the floor about 1 foot deep of grass clippings or equivalent to start because they are bigger and heavier, and I would think that the pen size of 12’x14′ would hold less than the 200 chickens it does for meat chickens because of their larger size.

the reason for using the suckers for a Growth Food (FPJ) is we are extracting the growth hormones from the fast growing suckers… this can be done with any plant that has a fast growing suckers or even new growth sprouts… ie: i like to make it from new growth sprouts from plants like Hosta & Comfrey that grow really fast in my area

In reply to: FPJ using Taro leaves

Yes, you will get benefit from making KNF Food from taro leaves. Taro is generally very nutritious so the leaves will contain those compounds and add benefit to the other crops when applied to them.

One general rule is that the best food for a plant is the plant itself, eg: banana being applied back to banana, but that may not always be possible for a variety of reasons, so the second general rule is use what you have a lot of so it becomes easy to get large volumes with little work.

In reply to: garlic rust

KNF Medicine is the most potent of the 9 Core Solutions to use to prevent rust, though keeping things in balance is the key. KNF Structure is also a good choice for garlic as it will help to harden up the plant to prevent opportunistic pathogens such as rust.

thats a hard one to answer it could be 1 of 1000 things causing a imbalance in your system from something as simple as to much water or something extreme like a soil infestation, your plants are definitely saying theres something wrong, now you just have to research whats going on and try to figure it outย  ย  Good Luck and May the Force be with You

To make rice bran lactic acid bacteria: add a liquid culture of lactic acid bacteria to rice bran then seal it for 2 weeks to culture. The lactic acid bacteria culture should be diluted 1:1000 into water, and then the rice bran should be moistened to 50% moisture content. After two weeks, the resulting rice bran will be a solid lactic acid bacteria culture that can be used for animal silage.
